If you are getting an error opening or printing PDF files in Adobe Acrobat:


1. Make sure Acrobat is fully up to date ( File > Help > Check for updates)

2. Fully update and reboot your computer ( Start > Settings > Windows Update)


If the problem persists try the following steps to reset Acrobat preferences:


1. Reset Acrobat preferences (most common fix)

Acrobat stores UI/layout config that can break exactly like this.

  1. Close **Adobe Acrobat completely
  2. Press Win + R
  3. Paste:

    %appdata%\Adobe
  4. Rename:
    • AcrobatAcrobat_old
    • Acrobat DCAcrobatDC_old (if present)

Then go to:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Adobe

Rename:

  • AcrobatAcrobat_old

Now reopen Acrobat.

 This forces a full config rebuild.
