Which Android App Should I Use?

  • Gmail app → Simple, built-in, basic email

  • Outlook app → Best for calendars, shared mailboxes, and notifications


Set Up SBCOE Office 365 Email on an Android Phone (Gmail App)


Use these steps to add your SBCOE email to the Gmail app on Android.

Steps

  1. Open the Gmail app.

  2. Tap your profile icon (top right).

  3. Tap Add another account.

  4. Select Microsoft Exchange.

  5. Enter your SBCOE email address (example: username@sbcoe.org).

  6. Tap Next.

  7. Sign in with your SBCOE password.

  8. Accept permissions when asked.

Your SBCOE email will now appear in the Gmail app.

If Email Does Not Sync

  • Check that background data is enabled

  • Restart your phone and wait a few minutes

Set Up SBCOE Office 365 Email on an Android Phone (Outlook App)

 

The Microsoft Outlook app is recommended for best calendar and email performance.

Step 1: Install Outlook

  1. Open the Google Play Store.

  2. Search for Microsoft Outlook.

  3. Install the app.

Step 2: Add Your SBCOE Account

  1. Open the Outlook app.

  2. Tap Get Started or Add Account.

  3. Enter your SBCOE email address.

  4. Tap Continue.

  5. Enter your password.

Outlook will automatically configure your account.

Optional Settings

  • Enable notifications

  • Enable calendar sync

  • Turn on Focused Inbox if desired

If You Have Issues

  • Make sure Outlook is updated


  • Close and reopen the app
