A temporary greeting may be desired if you may be out for a period etc. and want to have a voicemail greeting on your desk phone different from your standard greeting.


Once you record and accept a temporary greeting on your extension's voicemail it will override the normal voicemail greeting until you delete it.

 

To record a temporary greeting on your desk phone and override the normal greeting:

 

  • Hit  the voicemail key on your desk phone, 
  • Choose option 0 for mailbox options
  • Choose option 4 to record a temporary greeting, 
  • Record your message when prompted then press #, 
  • Choose 1 to accept the temporary greeting, option 2 to listen to it and option 3 to re-record it. 
  • Once you press 1 the temporary greeting will be accepted and applied to your extension's voicemail. 
  • Your temporary greeting will now be applied until you remove it. You can now hang up.

 

To remove the temporary greeting and go back to the normal greeting:

 

  • Hit voicemail key on your desk phone.
  • choose option 0 for mailbox options.
  • choose option 4 for temporary greetings
  • press 2 to erase and remove the temporary greeting. 
  • Your standard greeting will now be applied. You can now hang up.
