How to Setup the Personal Directory on your Cisco IP Desk Phone from your PC - this guide describes the steps required to setup the personal phone directory on your Cisco IP phone from your PC. This is easier and less time consuming than trying to add the items manually on the phone itself.
- Get the IP address of your phone: On your desk phone press the menu key (the icon is of a page with the upper right corner folded) then press 9. Your phones IP address will be shown on the phone's display. Make a note of it.
- Next open a web browser, type the IP address from step 1 into the address bar and hit enter. This should bring you to the web configuration page for your phone.
- Click the option for “Personal Directory”
Entries use the following format:
n=Name;p=number
Internal Extension Example:
n=Mathew;p=152
External Example:
n=ECE;p=98316302525
- When all desired entries have been made click “Submit Changes” to save and the phone will then reboot. When the phone comes back online your personal directory should be populated. You can confirm this by selecting the "dir" option on your phone.
